How Humidity Changes What Your Skin Actually Needs

Separately, high humidity reduces how efficiently sweat evaporates off the skin's surface, since the surrounding air is already saturated with moisture. The combination of more oil production and less sweat evaporation is what creates that heavier, shinier, "coated" feeling that shows up as soon as the weather turns warm and humid.
