No. Barely There is lightly scented with bergamot essential oil. It is our most subtle scent, but is not fragrance-free or unscented.

Does a lighter scent mean less odor control?

It Didn’t Work

It arrived very well packaged and communication throughout the delivery was excellent. The scent is pleasant and not overpowering. Unfortunately the product did not work for me. It’s disappointing, especially for the price & cost of shipping to the US. I was really hoping it would work, because I’ve researched and tried so many natural deodorants, with no success. I tried it after showering at night, then reapplied in the morning, but literally could smell the funk coming through in a very short period of time without much exertion. It also stung a bit after shaving, which would’ve been a non-issue for me had it worked. I gave it several tries in different scenarios, with no luck. Too bad, I wish this woman-owned company well and very happy for those that have gotten positive results with the product.

Barely There was unfortunately too there bc of my sensitivities.

I had wanted to love this but I have vasomotor rhinitis and lung issues and highly sensitive to smells and mists. Unfortunately the Barely There smell was too strong for me. Perhaps I am too sensitive now to essential oils. Apothekari was very kind and understanding and refunded my purchase. Could be better for others without major sensitivities.

I believe products products should be effective but also safe. My original review mentioned my search for zinc-free deodorant, but that search was actually zinc-free suntan lotion. In deodorant, I was looking for aluminum-free — which Apothekari Barely There is!

It’s been about a month now and Apothekari Barely There continues to work well with no perfume-y odor. It keeps me feeling fresh all day long. I really couldn’t be happier!

Awesome deodorant!

I have been looking for a zinc-free deodorant for years. Tried name brand ones that wore off after 2 hours. This one (barely there) works and lasts. Finally, a real alternative! So happy! Will be buying more in the future.

works but burns

It does work better than most natural deodorants-still prefer one with potassium alum in it (which I am trying to get away from), but I can't use if I have shaved my underarms--it burns like crazy, and since I usually shave every other day, I can only use on the opposite day, and I do have to reapply it, which being a spray is useful. I like the light citrus scent also, I do not like any fake fragrance or heavy essential oils.

We're happy to hear that our deodorant works for you! Sorry to hear about the burning, though. We have a couple of suggestions to help alleviate this:
1. Try waiting about 30 minutes after stepping out of the shower. It's not only the shaving that can make your skin sensitive, but washing with soap as well. Waiting helps for many people.
2. If waiting doesn't work, try applying a soothing moisturizer first. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it can help. One with aloe vera gel is a good one to try.
